The Trauma of Having Casts Off!

Well today was the day that Samantha was able to get her casts off. She has been counting down and could not wait and so the big day was today at 11:00. We got to the doctor's office and she was really nervous - we tried to tell her what the process was, but she was working herself up. We finally got called back to do it and the nurse explained what she was going to do and I just knew by the look in Samantha's face that she was gonna give the nurse a run for her money. They began to cut the casts off and I guess that even though the saw does not turn it heats up and although I have never had a broken bone myself, I guess it gets warm inside as they are cutting it. Let's just say that the entire doctor's office had to have heard her screaming while they were being cut off. I felt bad for her and Mark and I did our best to get through it calmly. Anyway, we finally got them off and she is good to go, although they are still sore. The doctor told her to still take it easy for a few more weeks, but at least the casts are off. She is home resting now and does not even want to look at her casts right now - HA. She is our "Drama Queen"!

Grammie's Here for a Visit!!!

We're so excited - Mom/Grammie got here for a visit yesterday afternoon. We all went and picked her up at the airport and went for all you can eat soup, salad and breadsticks at Olive Garden. It was so good, but we all ate too much. She will be here for a week and we are very excited to have her here, especially the girls. We're looking forward to tonight when the girls have their "Back to School" night and they get to find out who their teachers are going to be.

Convention was Awesome - Check Out The New Catalog!

I got home earlier tonight from California...it was such an AWESOME weekend. I left on Thursday for my Cookie Lee Jewelry convention in Anaheim as I had Leadership meetings in the afternoon. Convention began on Friday AM and lasted until today. It was an amazing weekend. This was my 6th convention and they get better every time. Cookie really outdid herself again on the new jewelry line - it never ceases to amaze me! The weekend was so fun - lot's of training and motivation and I'm so excited to hit the ground running again. I always come home so inspired and ready to go! Here are some of the FUN pics. Both of my sisters are also consultants and we love knowing that we get to have so much fun and catch up and spend "sister" time ~ We all laughed so much and stayed up TOO late and had hardly any sleep, but it truly was a blast all around. While I was there, I also received my $100,000 Career Sales Award and also received a National President's Sales Award from the Company. Cookie Lee Jewelry - My Convention is Finally Here!

I am so excited for this weekend! As many of you already know, I quit my nursing job almost 3 years ago to stay home with the girls and work on keeping my MS symptoms in remission. Since that time, I have remained symptom free and LOVE being home with my girls and family! I have continued to sell Cookie Lee Jewelry and absolutely LOVE this and it has become another one of my passions. I leave tomorrow morning to fly to California for our annual convention and the release of our Fall/Winter line and I know as always it is going to be awesome! It is such an amazing time for so many reasons. I get girls time, get to grow in my business and personally as well. It is an inspiring experience that I never want to miss! I posted a picture of our group last year that went and I can't wait for this year. It is the most awesome FUN you could ever imagine and I know I will never miss another one. If you are interested in checking out the jewelry, you can view my website at: www.cookielee.biz/lisaperkins Check back too on Monday, 8/25 as the brand new catalog will be posted then.

TJ is ready for Backpacking!

We have decided that we want to do more hiking and backpacking and would like to take our dogs. TJ especially is stronger so we found him his own pack that he is able to carry his own food and water - Cool, Huh? He was a little freaked out at first, but seems to be okay with it now. I did not even know they made such a thing, but here you go!

We were on TV Today!

Well, our family ended up being on TV today and I really had no idea. All I knew was that our photographer (Highlite Photography) took our family pictures last Fall in Big Cottonwood Canyon and we got some awesome pictures. They moved to a new location this year and had told me that they loved some of our Fall pictures and that they may blow up a few to have in their studio to advertise Fall photos. Anyway, I got a call last night from the owner, Mindy, letting me know that they were going to be on "Good Things Utah" this morning and would it be alright if they used one of our pictures. I thought it would be a background picture, but it ended up being a picture that they got a close-up of our family. I was very surprised when I watched today. Dinner with Friends

Tonight, I got together with some great friends that I have not seen forever at this great pizza place in Draper called Nevole's and it was awesome! It is so nice to get together with friends that you have not seen in a long time and feel like you just pick up where you left off. Friends are the best and just what I needed tonight - THANKS!!!

Cowgirl Katie!

Samantha was bored as I have been trying to make her rest today. Katie was sitting there minding her own business and Samantha decided she was going to put a hat on her and have her pose for pictures. I guess she's a good sport - HA!

It's a Better Day...

Well things are looking up for the most part. Samantha's arms are starting to feel better for the most part and she is getting used to doing things "casted" and Sophie still woke up with her eye swollen shut from the bug bites, but with more Benadryl and icing it, it is getting better so I'm hoping it continues to go that way. It's beautiful today and a 'little' cooler out. Let's keep our fingers crossed that I'll actually get my office all cleaned today - it's been postponed with everything else going on.

Problem with the Blog Wallpaper...

Okay - it's midnight now and frustrated. I had another wallpaper on the blog, but it won't work now and I'm just too tired to keep trying so I'll keep this one for now until I can figure it out tomorrow when I have more sleep.

Sophie's Swollen Eye!

I guess I'm being tested this week. Sophie woke up this morning with a swollen eye and it appears that some sort of bug got her all over the right side of her body and her poor eye is almost swollen shut so she is hating life right now. Poor baby - she's living on Benadryl right now.

Samantha's Broken Both of Her Wrists!

YEP - you read it right. On Thursday, Samantha was riding her scooter and was not even going that fast, but she wrecked and landed on both of her hands. The pain was just not going away so we decided we better take her to the doctor and have her wrists x-rayed...Guess What??? Not only one wrist, but both wrists were broken. She has buckle fractures in both wrists and thankfully, it was not really bad so she only has to be in casts for 3 weeks. Poor thing - she hates them!

Samantha and Mom Have Worked Hard On This!

Samantha and I have been working all afternoon and evening on trying to get this blog up and running. We've spent so much time picking songs, pictures, backgrounds that we just want to have it working. We'll keep you posted.
