GREAT NEWS!!!!

I don't know how many of you knew this, but I had an MRI last week. My doctor has done yearly MRI's since my initial diagnosis of MS back in April 2005 to monitor it. I am PLEASED to let you all know that I got a call today from his office telling me that these MRI's looked the same as the initial one and each year thereafter and my MS has not progressed any further ~ it has remained the same!!! I am so excited and thankful for this. I pray that it will continue to stay that way. I'll keep up those weekly, expensive shots if it means that my MS will stay in remission!!! YEAH...

Updates...

Well it has been awhile since I've posted anything. It has been a crazy week. I got home late last night from Nevada - it was a lot of fun, but quite interesting. I flew to Las Vegas last week and met a friend of mine and we drove to Laughlin, NV for a convention. The convention was held at the Aquarius Casino - SO SMOKY - oh my goodness - I had forgotten how much I appreciate smoke-free environments! Anyway, I was in Laughlin until Sunday and then since I have never been to Las Vegas, my friend showed me Vegas in 24 hours. WOW - I have never walked so much in my entire life - HA. It was amazing. I can not believe the money in that town. The casinos on the strip were absolutely beautiful and I think my all time favorite is the Bellagio - the water fountains and music were spectacular! I got home late last night and have played catch up most of today. Also, for those that have been waiting, our summer family pics are up. I really like them - they were so fun and I am not sure how to even begin narrowing it down. If you are interested in looking at them. Go to www.highlitephotography.com and click on families and then click on proofing and then type in the password "perkins". Let me know what you think - they were a lot of fun to do. We already have more formal pictures so it will be fun to pick some more casual pictures, but there are a lot that are good so I'm not sure how I'm going to narrow it down.

Family Pictures for Summer Season!

Tonight was a lot of fun. We have taken seasonal pictures for the past year with Marc and Mindy through Highlite Photography and tonight we went to the Great Salt Lake and took Summer pictures (they were the last season we had). It was very "stinky" to say the least, BUT, it was absolutely perfect out there tonight, just gorgeous!!! I can hardly wait to see the pictures, we had an amazing sunset and got some awesome pictures. I will keep you all posted when the proofs are ready so you can see them. I can't wait as we are going to do a book of our family with all four seasons as we have a ton of great pictures. We took Spring pictures with the tulips and cherry blossoms last year in April at Gardner Village, Fall Pictures up Big Cottonwood Canyon in October last year with some amazing Fall colors, (we missed Summer last year, hence tonight) and then did Winter Pictures up Butterfield Canyon this past Winter so we are very excited as we have many amazing pictures. Keep checking back as the proofs should be posted in about a week or so and I'll post a link for you to check them out.

2nd Day of School!

Well the girls had an awesome first day and loved it. It is a brand new school so there are definitely some kinks to be worked out such as the pick-up was a huge joke...humungous lines - over 100 vehicles...anyway, we needless to say walked to pick them up and hopefully it will be better today. Anyway, the girls were very excited again today to go and see all their new friends.

The First Day of School!

Well we just got home from taking the girls to their first day of school and they were SO EXCITED!!! They looked so cute in their uniforms and could not wait to see what new friends they were going to meet. I still just can not believe that they are in 2nd and 4th grade already - where does the time go. We thought our girls were the most beautiful ones there!!!

Mark and Samantha working on the Chicken Coup!

I don't know how many of you know, but yes, we have chickens and turkeys and a big coup up in the top of our yard. They have been a lot of fun for the girls and they have gotten big. Today, Mark and Samantha did some winterizing of the coup in preparation for the winter weather. They worked hard and fun doing it.

Sophie Opens Her Own Savings Account...

On Friday, Sophie opened her own Savings Account with money that she has earned for allowance and she was very excited. Here are a few pics of the big day.

A Beautiful Day in Park City!

On Saturday, we decided that we would go to Park City for the day. My Mom was here and we wanted to try and get out of the heat a little bit and thought it would be fun to spend the day in Park City. We got up there mid-afternoon and decided to eat on Main Street. When we got there, we had no idea that there was a Mustang Car Show going on and WOW, I have never in my entire life seen so many classic Mustangs. They went from one end of town to the other - there must have been at least 200-300 different Mustangs there - it was quite a site. We spent a lot of time walking around and checking out the shops, sales and cars of course. It was a great day.

Back To School Night at Providence Hall

Well the girls are so excited. We did Back to School night at the brand new charter school here in Herriman ~ Providence Hall. They did the ribbon cutting and the girls were able to go in and see their new school, hear from the principal and meet their teachers. They are so excited too. Samantha and Sophie both got the teachers that they wanted and can't wait to start school, which is actually tomorrow, September 2nd. Samantha's 4th grade teacher is Mrs. Pocock (yes, like Peacock, but Pocock) and Sophie's 2nd grade teacher is Mrs. Unsicker (yes, another unusual name). They can hardly wait. They have uniforms that they will wear to school and have them all picked out and ready to put on tomorrow. I'll post more pictures of their 1st day of school tomorrow.
